The University of Economics in Bratislava(EUBA) is a leading public university in Slovakia. It has extensive experience in research and teaching in Economics, Business, Finance and Management. EUBA has more than 10 000 students at its 7 faculties and it is the largest centre of education and research in these disciplines in Slovakia. Its faculties prepare students for careers in state administration, embassies, governmental and non-governmental organizations, as well as in private multi-national corporations and for the past years, it has always topped the ranking in terms of graduate employment rates. Over 80 % of EUBA academic staffs hold a PhD. University is using quality standards compliant with ENQA.
EUBA staff has been involved in several international projects supported by H2020, LLP, FP6, FP7, COST, South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme, as well as by Structural Funds of the EU. The most recent project supported by the European Commission was the ongoing project H2020-TWINN-2015-EDGE No.692413 that the EUBA coordinates. The EU structural funds enabled at the EUBA establishment of the Centre of Excellence in Economic Research Focused on Civilization Challenges in the 21st Century.
The interdisciplinary research has intensified especially in the field of migration and its socio-economic impacts (H2020-TWINN-2015-EDGE No.692413, COST Action IS1011: Climate Change, Environment and Migration, WWWforEUROPE), and biomedicine and new material research. As for the latter, EUBA is cooperating on the establishment of two University Research Parks for these fields in cooperation with local partners funded by the European Commission.
The EUBA team will contribute to the project by providing complementary knowledge on the understanding of economic phenomena associated with migration integration especially on the labor market, as well as much needed quantitative and modelling skills foremost related to modern modelling of growth through spatial modelling techniques and decomposition techniques. The team also includes an expert on environmental issues unfolded by migration and the dissemination expert – member of Slovak parliament and the Vice-Chair of the European Committee through which the project has a direct access to government.
