Katarina Csefalvayova
Katarina Csefalvayova is an Assistant Professor and researcher at the Faculty of International Relations at the University of Economics in Bratislava. She holds a PhD. in international economic relations on the topic of the international water trade relations with particular focus on water scarcity, crisis emergence and socio-economic impacts on population. In her later research, she engaged also in wider climate-induced impacts on international politics, such as migration patterns or security.
She has participated in various international projects such as COST Action IS1011 on Climate Change, Environment and Migration, co-organized Workshops on Environment and Security, hosted national COP 21 student simulation on Climate Change. She is an experienced project coordinator of several national projects for young researchers, as well as coordinator of Horizon 2020 “Edge” project. She is the laureate of the PIPA programme/award of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the French republic for 2015. After having served 4 years as the Vice-Dean for International Development of the Faculty of International Relations at EUBA, she was elected to the national parliament of the Slovak republic, where she uses her knowledge from academia as Vice-Chair of the European Affairs Committee.
